Hi Craving for a long beard, still too shy to go further than an attempt, and I quit ! well what would be your advice? I always have some good reason to trim my beard : the opinion of others, corporate reasons ... this summer I have a no trim goal and I would like to stick to it ! Cheers from Paris

Sorry for the late reply. If you are craving a long beard, you should go for it. I think a lot of us make excuses because we lack the confidence it takes to be free. I have found that after a point no one seems to care about my beard. We often become so fixated on the minutiae of our beards, that we project our insecurities onto the outer world. We imagine that our beard will be unacceptable, when in reality, most people do not place as much importance on it as we do. You need to simply accept that you want a long beard, then let it happen. If you find you are on the wrong path, you can always trim back to your comfort zone. But I think you will find, as you grow, that your comfort zone will evolve. You may end up like me, where a short beard is no longer within my comfort zone.
